Glossary definition of A2DP Stereo Audio Profile

A2DP is the abbreviation of Advanced Audio Distribution Profile. A2DP is a Bluetooth profile with which hifi-stereo sounds can be transmitted through a wireless Bluetooth-connection.

A Bluetooth-profile is a different name for the specific application that runs through the Bluetooth connection. There are over 25 Bluetooth profiles available, each with his own specific purpose. An example of a application of A2DP is the sending and listening to music between a mobile phone and a Bluetooth headset. A MP3-speler has become useless! But a provision is that both the machine that sends the items and the machine that receives the items need to support A2DP.
